Making a change

Updated: Aug 2, 2022

What does it take to make a change? To start a movement? To gather others together?

I don’t really know, except that’s exactly what we did. For me, it took anger! But for me to get angry, it took an injustice. Not just any injustice, but a serious, deep attack, not just on myself, but my children, my family, our way of life!

It took a spark! And that spark ignited an anger. A righteous anger, but an anger nonetheless.

What do you do with that anger? You can’t hold onto it, that’s not a healthy thing to do. But if you’re not careful, you could do just that. Nope, for me, out of a desperate desire to DO SOMETHING, I sought a remedy to ONE SINGLE INJUSTICE that was hurting me. And a “remedy idea” was shared with me, it randomly fell into my inbox. Was it random? I like to think it was divine.

Doing that ONE thing required to reach out, to find others who felt as I did. Who felt as passionate as I did, as angry, as frustrated, as scared…and I found them…and many of them found me. And we gathered.

Did I know what we were going to do? Nope, not really. But deep within my soul, I knew GOD was calling me to obediently DO. And I know within me, that if I took the first step, He would show me the next one, and the one after that, and then the one after that...

So every week or two, we gather. We grow. We expand. We invite.

AND WE DON’T FEEL SO ANGRY!

We don’t feel so ALONE.

We don’t feel so scared.

We UNITE.

Then we EDUCATE.

And finally we ACTIVATE!

And guess what? We are ALREADY shifting the tide! THAT is how you make a change. Join us! Help us take back our community! 🇺🇸
